Join the Vila Vita Family... we are looking for a Groups & Events Manager to manage and coordinate the groups and events segment.

The Groups & Events Manager is an essential member of the Sales and Hotel’s leadership team which is dedicated to providing exceptional quality and service to our guests.

We are looking for individuals who possess a high level of attention to detail and a strong work ethic. The ability to multitask and prioritize is also essential for this position.

The Groups & Events Manager reports to the Groups & Events Senior Manager to sell and service events and act as the main liaison between the client and hotel for all client events.

Successful candidates will be a willing team player, comfortable with Property Management software systems and willing to accept assignments on as need basis, in order to promote teamwork. Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Develop group and event contracts
  • Ensure the response to the entire group process
  • Assist the client in organizing the event
  • Organize group site inspections and visits
  • Prepare and manage group processes
  • Convey relevant information about groups and collaborate with other departments
  • Co-ordinate and supervise in-house groups and events according to defined procedures
  • Control billing for groups

For this position, it is desirable to have:

We are looking for individuals who have solid selling and interpersonal skills and who demonstrate the energy and commitment to meet and exceed personal goals. The applicant will have a proven track record in pursuing, evaluating soliciting, selling and confirming business as required in order to meet individual goals and overall budgeted sales and profitability.

  • Previous experience (min. 2-3 years) in a similar role within 5-star hotels;
  • Fluent in English and Portuguese (verbal and written). German is a plus;
  • Strong selling and interpersonal skills;
  • Dynamism, proactivity and autonomy;
  • Attention to detail, excellence and problem solving;
  • Great teamwork, good communications and strong multi-tasking skills;
  • Sense of responsibility, leadership and trust;
  • Be trustworthy and able to handle confidential information appropriately;
  • High level of customer service and passionate about luxury hospitality;
  • Availability and flexibility with working hours;
  • Demonstrate responsibility and care with hygiene and personal appearance;
  • Ability to act efficiently and effectively under pressure;
  • Driving license required;
  • Welcome the perspective of living in the Algarve (South Portugal).
