We are seeking a motivated Data & Analytics Engineer to work with a diverse and highly competent team to help build an innovative and effective data platform to support business transformation. We are looking for someone with a strong focus on BigQuery and digital data to design and build data pipelines and architectures according to best practices. In addition to having an overview of Marketing data, you will utilize all web and media data and collaborate with technical experts responsible for their management. You will take part in stimulating projects that will generate value for the business and consolidate BRP's reputation as a leader in analytics. Sharing your knowledge and expertise in BigQuery and digital data with your colleagues will be essential.
YOU'LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
- Design, implement, test and support robust ELT data pipelines.
- Coordinate with multiple development teams to achieve delivery objectives.
- Provide support in requirements definition, estimation, development and delivery of robust and scalable solutions.
- Design, implement, test and support high performing transformations to bring clean data in the hands of data analysts and data scientists.
- Implement data quality controls.
- Manage large-scale processing systems, addressing performance and scalability issues.
- Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources.
- Create technical documentation to ensure future maintainability of the code.
- Continuously develop your knowledge in the field, and share that knowledge with your peers.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the data engineering practice.
- Go beyond the code to understand the business behind the data and related processes.
- Actively participate in the team discussions.
- Collaborate with the data steward and technical experts to ensure proper management of digital data.
YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:
- Solid and demonstrated experience on following technologies: Snowflake, DBT, Talend or equivalent ETL tool, Big Query, Universal Analytics, GA4.
- Knowledge of the following technologies is a plus: Azure, Microsoft SQL Server, Power BI.
- Fluent in following programming languages: SQL, Python.
- Knowledge of following programming languages is a plus: Javascript / Node.js, Java, Dax.
- Fluent in writing, executing and optimizing complex SQL queries.
- Experience with web services such as Redshift, S3, Spark, and DigitalOcean.
- Experience analyzing data from 3rd party providers like Google Analytics (UA/GA4) raw data, Site Catalyst, Coremetrics, etc.
- Experience in an Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban).
- Experience with data profiling and other means of validating data quality.
- Used to Devops practices.
- Experience in working within an agile team to build big data / analytics solutions.
- Strong interpersonal skills, motivated and loves to work on multiple challenging projects.
- Open-minded and able to adapt to new ways of working.
- Well organized and able to self-prioritize, sometimes with conflictual deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both speaking and writing, in both French and English.
- Continuously seeks improvements and eager to put hands on new technologies.
- Experience with SAP, Power BI, AI/ML knowledge.
